The Central Coast Dragon Boat Association

MEET OUR TEAMS

Paddling since 2007, The Central Coast
SurviveOars is the founding team of
CCDBA. Composed of cancer survivors of all genders, ages, and fitness levels, along with family members, caregivers, friends, and others whose lives have been affected by cancer; the team promotes the joy, camaraderie, passion, and health benefits of dragon boat paddling. The team competes in cancer survivor racing divisions as well as women's and all-gender divisions, depending on the festival and available paddlers. Race participation is encouraged but not required. SurviveOars offers practice opportunities five days a week, year-round.

Central Coast Adventurers, paddling since 2023, is an all-gender competition-focused team of college students attending Cal Poly State University (San Luis Obispo) or Cuesta College; the team also welcomes faculty, staff, and alumni of the two schools. In addition to promoting dragon boating on both campuses, the Adventurers fosters an inclusive and vibrant community off the water.
Practices are Sundays from 9:00-10:15 a.m., except during school breaks and summer. Ride sharing is available.

Founded in 2026, The DreamMakeOars is a developing all-gender dragon boat team with a diverse group of athletes who are training to compete at local, national, and international levels. The team welcomes competition-focused adult paddlers (age 18 plus). Team paddlers are expected to compete in at least one race per year.
DreamMakeOars practice on Saturdays at 8:15 a.m., year-round.
