Our Teams practice in the shadow of Morro Rock in beautiful Morro Bay, California. We invite ALL to join us. Our paddlers paddle to compete in dragon boat competitions (all over the world!), to exercise, and to enjoy being out on the waters of Morro Bay. No matter who you are, you are welcome. The organization was founded by a team of cancer survivors; we have grown into a diverse community of all ages, all genders, all walks of life. New teams and new paddlers are always welcome! WHAT IS DRAGON BOAT RACING?

​

Dragon boat racing is an international sport that originated in China more than 2000 years ago. A dragon boat team consists of up to 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steers-person. The sport emphasizes timing and teamwork. It’s not about how strong you are; it’s about how strong WE ARE TOGETHER.

WHAT IS CCDBA?

Central Coast Dragon Boat Association (CCDBA) is a public benefit nonprofit corporation under IRC 501(c)(3), located in Morro Bay, CA. Our dual mission is to build a community of dragon boat teams for all levels of competition, AND to empower and support cancer survivors in the sport. If you support our mission, paddle with us! WE NEED LOCAL VOLUNTEERS TO TRAIN AS STEERSPERSONS!!

Do you like to be outdoors and live near Morro Bay? Are you willing to learn a new skill, and have fun for an hour a week on a dragon boat? WE NEED YOU!!
